Thought of trying tricolor recipe as a special for Independence Day representing
our Flag. Check out the recipes and try in home and enjoy with kids. They will surely

Ingredients:
Rice flour – 1 cup
Tomato – ½
Mint leaves – ¼ cup
Cilantro – ¼ cup
Salt a pinch
Water – as needed
Method:
1. Heat a
pan and roast the rice flour for 7 to 8 mins.
2. Add
salt to the roasted rice flour. Divide the flour equally in three cups.
3. Heat
oil in a pan, saute the cilantro and mint leaves until the raw smell
disappears. Now puree them into a fine paste with little water.
4. Now in
the same pan, saute the tomatoes until it turns mushy. Now puree them in to a
fine paste.
Green layer:
1. Take
one bowl of rice flour among three, add the mint and cilantro puree little by
little and mix well.
2. Remove
the wet lumps by mixing them gently with fingers.
White layer:
1. Take
another bowl, add plain water and mix well.
2. Remove
the wet lumps by mixing them gently with fingers.
Orange layer:
1. Take
the last bowl, add the tomato puree little by little and mix well.
2. Remove
the wet lumps by mixing them gently with fingers.
Steaming:’
1. Add
water in the bottom of a Idli steamer.
2. Arrange
the tricolor rice flour in the idli moulds separately.
3. Steam
for about 15 to 17 mins on high flame.
4. Remove
and serve hot.
