Today
I am going to share the recipe of famous Kolkata street snack named chicken
roll. This is very easy to prepare in home with available home ingredients. Most
of them add egg with roti, but this time I didn’t add egg. So, if you want you
can add egg with roti. Try this in home, it is perfect for lunch box recipes.

Ingredients:
For
Roti:
Wheat
flour – 1 cup
Warm
water – as needed
Salt
– as needed
Ghee
– ½ tsp
For
marination:
Chicken
boneless cubed – 1 cup
Curd
– 2 tbsp
Turmeric
powder – ¼ tsp
Red
chili powder – 1 tsp
Coriander
powder – 1 tsp
Cumin
powder – ½ tsp
Fennel
powder – ½ tsp
Garam
masala – ½ tsp
Lemon
juice – 1tbsp
Salt-
as needed
For
filling:
Oil
– 1 tbsp
Onion
– 1, finely chopped
Green
chilies – 2
Tomato
– ½, finely chopped
Ginger
garlic paste – 1 tsp
Curry
leaves – ½ spring
Cilantro
– few
Tomato
ketchup – for spreading
Method:
1.
Marinate the chicken with the ingredients mentioned under “for marinating” and
refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
2.
Now take wheat flour in a vessel, add salt and warm water as needed and knead a
perfect roti dough. Add some ghee to the dough and keep aside for 15 minutes.
3.
Heat oil in a pan, Add green chilies, onion and curry leaves. Saute well till
the onion turns translucent.
4.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell leaves. Now add the
marinated chicken, cover and cook for 15 mins.
5.
Cook the chicken until the water dries. Add fresh cilantro to it.
6.
Divide the dough in to 5 equal proportions. Flatten a ball of dough and roll
into flat roti.
7.
Heat tawa and prepare roti by drizzling some oil over it.
8.
Now take the roti, spread some tomato ketchup on it, place some prepared
chicken in the center.
9.
Add some onion, tomato and cilantro over
it. Now roll the roti and form a chicken roll.
10.
Serve hot with ketchup.
